Cultural Cooperation Programme

In the sphere of cultural cooperation the Embassy has some funds available to support cultural exchange activities between the Netherlands and Lithuania.
A project proposal must correspond to the following criteria:

  • the project must contribute to strengthening the cultural cooperation between the Netherlands and Lithuania,
  • the project must be of sufficient quality by both local and Dutch cultural standards,
  • the initiative and application must – in general - come from a local organization which will be responsible for implementation of the project,
  • the project must be non-profit.

Applications should be submitted to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Jogailos str. 4, IV floor, LT-01116 Vilnius, Lithuania. Contact person for projects is Ms. Birute MumenaiteEmailadres vil@minbuza.nl, tel. +370 52690072.  Applications can be submitted all year round. Applications and related correspondence should be in English. You can download the standard Microsoft Word document application form. The application should be accompanied by a cover letter and a copy of the registration document of the applicant's organisation. Project proposals can be submitted all year round. Total duration of a project can not exceed 12 months.

The Embassy's contribution is a one-off payment, meaning that no additional funding can be provided. The budget must be drawn up in Litas and detailed, well-founded calculations must be included. The Embassy's contribution does not cover 100% of the project costs: a (measurable) own contribution in cash or kind must be provided for. The Embassy prepares a Grant Letter and sends to the applicant. After the applicant receives the Grant Letter, an installment of the financial contribution (usually 100%) will be transferred to the applicant’s bank account (in Litas). Private bank accounts can not be used. Payments in cash are not possible. In most cases, one final report (covering content and financial aspects) is expected from the applicant for the whole project period and the total budget of the project. The report must reflect the content and expected follow-up of the project. For all the expenses made within the project, corresponding payment copies must be presented. Budget items in the financial report must correspond to the same items in the application form. If changes appear necessary during the project, explicit approval of the Embassy must be asked for in writing. In case of co-financing, this report must reflect the entire budget of the project, showing how the contributions the Embassy, other donors and own contribution has been used.
