Matra / KAP Programme 2002-2007Until 2008 Lithuania was eligible to receive funding from the Matra/KAP programme, run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands through embassies and/or consulates-general. The general aim of this programme was to assist countries in Central and Eastern Europe in their process of social transformation. When Lithuania joined the European Union in 2004 the Matra/KAP projects were gradually phased out. Since January 1, 2008 the Matra/KAP programme has been terminated completely.
